Canan Karatay, a renowned cardiologist and dietitian from Turkey, has recommended increasing the use of sumac in daily nutrition.
Demokrat.az reports that according to the doctor, one tablespoon of sumac mixed with warm water and consumed can help cleanse the intestines and liver.
Karatay states that when sumac is eaten together with yogurt or brewed as tea and consumed, its effect is even stronger. According to her, sumac is rich in antioxidants, reduces inflammation, improves digestion, helps regulate blood sugar, and supports cardiovascular health.
The doctor notes that sumac also has antibacterial and antifungal properties. There are also studies suggesting that in some cases, it may slow the development of cancer cells. However, excessive use is not recommended, and it is considered essential for individuals with chronic diseases to consult a doctor first.
