Unexpected ban on cars: China took a step back VİDEO

The innovation Tesla brought to the automobile market in 2012 - the opening of car door handles from the inside - quickly became a trend. This innovation was replicated in China and began to be widely used in that market. However, China is now banning this application.

What is the reason for this?

According to auto blogger Araz Mubarizoglu speaking to Baku TV, the positive aspect of this innovation is that hidden handles give cars an aerodynamic advantage. However, there are more negative sides.

He noted that China exports more cars to Russia, and in cold weather conditions, opening such hidden handles can cause problems.

Araz Mubarizoglu added that this mechanism is only for appearance but is both dangerous and expensive: "It is impossible to open these doors during a fire because the system blocks the car, which makes it difficult for people to exit and be rescued."

It should be noted that after the rule comes into force, only models in the production phase will be given a grace period until 2029. Door handles operated by electronic mechanisms that are flush with the interior will no longer be certified.

According to experts, opening car doors with mechanical handles is beneficial for both car manufacturers and citizens because these handles are cheaper and safer.
