The U.S. Senate has passed a resolution on war powers.
AZERTAC reports that the draft resolution prohibits the President from using the U.S. Armed Forces in military operations within or against Venezuela without the permission of Congress.
The resolution was approved by 52 senators, with 47 voting against. Five members of the Republican Party joined their Democratic Party colleagues in passing the draft.
Next, the resolution will be brought to a vote in the House of Representatives for full approval.
