Negotiations with the USA are not on the agenda again - Iran's Foreign Minister

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has stated that negotiations with the United States are not possible again.

Medianews.az, referring to BAKU.WS, reports that the minister, commenting on the possibility of new negotiations with Washington in an interview with the American media, said that this issue is not currently on the agenda.

According to him, during discussions between Tehran and Washington officials in February, the U.S. side stated that it had no intention to attack Iran. However, despite this, attacks were later carried out against the country.

Araqchi noted that the experience of negotiations with the Americans was very bitter for Iran, and therefore the likelihood of such a process starting again is low.

The minister also called the attacks carried out by the U.S. and Israel against Iran "a completely illegal act of aggression." According to him, Iran is only defending itself in this situation.

Araqchi stated that if the U.S. attacks Iran, Tehran may be forced to strike American military bases and facilities in the region. This could cause the conflict to spread throughout the entire region.

Furthermore, the minister noted that oil tankers are currently avoiding passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Nevertheless, he emphasized that Iran has not closed the strait and has not obstructed tanker movement.
