Residents living on some streets in the Yasamal district of Baku have been warned about the removal of air conditioners.
Citizens have submitted appeals to BAKU.WS's "hotline" regarding this matter.
According to the residents, a notice issued by the Housing and Communal Services Union stated that air conditioners and other installed items on the facades of buildings must be removed within three days. Otherwise, these devices will be removed by the authority.
"In connection with beautification works in our city, to the attention of dining establishments, apartments, institutions, and private organizations located at the intersections of I. Safarli Street with D. Aliyev, Vidadi, B. Safaroglu, A. Guliyev, H. Aslanov, L. Tolstoy, S. Tagizade, and Nizami streets! We kindly ask you to remove iron barriers, rain sheds, air conditioners, and other equipment installed by you in front of and around your dining establishments, apartments, institutions, and private organizations within 3 (three) days," reads the notice sent by the Housing and Communal Services Union.
Some residents state that because the windows at the back of their buildings do not open, they have no other choice but to place air conditioners there. In such cases, they do not want the air conditioners to be removed. They have asked the responsible authorities to consider alternative solutions to the problem.
