Director, screenwriter, cinematographer, Honored Art Worker Zaur Məhərrəmov passed away at the age of 87.

Medianews.az reports that the Azerbaijan Professional Film Directors Guild has announced this information.

It was reported that Zaur Məhərrəmov passed away in Turkey, where he had lived and worked for many years.

It should be noted that Zaur Xasay oglu Məhərrəmov was born on January 28, 1938, in Baku. Since 1956, he started working at the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio as an assistant. He was the director of several documentary films. He worked as the director of photography for feature films such as "The Last Night of Childhood," "The Dervish Blows up Paris," "Birthday," "Chords of Long Life," and others. From the early 1980s, he continued his career as a director and screenwriter, dedicating his creativity to documentary cinema, and in 1984 established the "Memory" studio, where he produced films such as "Baku Balconies," "Migration," "Uzeyir Hajibeyov," "Habib and Gulkhan," and others. He continued his work as a teacher in the Department of Cinema and Television at Anadolu University in Turkey.
