One of the world's most popular messaging platforms, "WhatsApp," is working on a new restriction system to increase the security and convenience of communication among users.
According to BAKU.WS, the platform has already moved to the testing phase of a feature that applies a monthly limit on the number of messages sent to unknown persons.
According to the information, the main purpose of this step is to prevent spam messages and mass advertising sends. The innovation covers both regular users and business accounts.
According to the new system, the user will only be able to send a certain number of messages to an unknown person. If the other party does not respond and the user reaches the limit, the system will temporarily stop sending messages to that number.
WhatsApp representatives state that regular users will hardly notice this restriction. Nevertheless, a warning notification will be sent when the account limit is approaching.
Currently, the company has not disclosed the exact number of the limit, but several different models are being tested. This innovation is expected to be implemented as a pilot project in several countries in the coming weeks.
Experts believe that this change is one of the most serious steps aimed at WhatsApp user security and protection of personal data. The application of restrictions may also reduce the risks of fraud, fake campaigns, and data theft.
Thus, soon WhatsApp users' messaging rules will change somewhat – personal privacy and security will become a priority.
