"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has started work on creating the necessary infrastructure for the upcoming elections in the country."
"Qafqazinfo" reports that this was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to him, ensuring the participation of millions of Ukrainian citizens living abroad in the voting process will be one of the biggest challenges during the elections:
"For this purpose, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to establish a 'special infrastructure.' An absolute condition for holding democratic elections is achieving a ceasefire. Ukrainians living in Russia will not be allowed to vote by Moscow, and the election process will not be organized in territories currently under Russian control. I do not intend to 'cling' to my position, and I am ready to go to the elections provided that all necessary conditions are created."
It should be recalled that although Zelensky was elected as the 6th president of Ukraine in 2019 and his five-year term would end in May 2024, elections have been postponed in accordance with the Constitution due to the martial law imposed in the country.
