Putin's two calls – What does it mean?

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone during the day with the leaders of two countries that are hostile to each other – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Political analyst Elkhan Shahinoglu emphasized in his statement to Medianews.az that Putin wanted to tell the outside world "I am here too": “Vladimir Putin told Netanyahu that ‘Russia is ready to continue mediation efforts and promote constructive dialogue with the participation of all interested states,’ and told Masoud Pezeshkian that ‘we are continuing efforts to reduce tensions.’ It is nothing more than flattering words.”

Firstly, Russia is so stuck in the Ukraine war that it has neither time nor diplomatic resources left to solve other problems. Putin remained silent on the US taking control of Venezuela, and his activity regarding Iran is almost nonexistent.

Though Kremlin mouthpiece Vladimir Solovyov states the importance of Russia taking control of Armenia, Armenia, by implementing the “Trump path,” has facilitated the strengthening of the US in the South Caucasus.
