Pashinyan or Kocharyan? – OPINION of an Azerbaijani expert who knows the Armenian language

Etibar Aliyev, an education expert originally from Western Azerbaijan, told Medianews.az that since he once learned Armenian language in middle school, he can follow the election marathon of the candidates in the parliamentary elections to be held in Armenia on the 7th of this month more carefully.

He recalled that several political analysts from Azerbaijan speak about the possibility of serious clashes occurring after the parliamentary elections in Armenia: "Undoubtedly, the significant role of the Russian factor in this is not excluded. But my conclusion is that there is no impulse in Armenia to drag people into a civil war."

According to E. Aliyev, some of the extremist elements who support war in Armenia have died, and the remaining ones are maintaining silence: "It is clearly felt from the views of former president Robert Kocharyan that he is in a pessimistic state; the population does not support him.

The Armenian people have had to support peace in a short period of time and adaptation is felt.

The Karabakh factor, which Kocharyan once cunningly used from his subconscious, has not been erased. To paraphrase Hegel's famous saying, his consciousness has not been saved from misery. And this election will throw him into the dustbin of history."

E. Aliyev believes that the likelihood of Russia creating confrontation in Armenia is very low: "Cause-and-effect relationships are clearly felt in this trend. Generation Z is practically not interested in political processes. The middle and older generations have learned exemplary lessons from their predecessors.

Kocharyan's followers on social networks and televisions are 50-100 times fewer than those of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The successful negotiations carried out by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan towards achieving peace, and their joint receipt of prestigious awards from international organizations, are proof of the high-level mutual understanding achieved in the region. And the support of the world's leading states for this process is clearly felt."
