A court decision has been issued regarding Murat Övüç, a well-known social media influencer and blogger from Turkey.
Qafqazinfo reports that the court sentenced Murat Övüç to 11 months in prison under the charge of "openly insulting the religious values accepted by a part of society."
Övüç stated in court that he made the video as a joke and to please his veiled followers. He apologized, saying he had no ill intentions.
It should be noted that after Murat Övüç shared the video involving a headscarf, an investigation was initiated by the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
He was arrested on December 20, 2025.
