According to the preliminary results of the parliamentary election held in Armenia on June 7, the legislative body consists of 105 members, with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's Civil Contract Party receiving 64 seats, the Strong Armenia bloc 29, and the Armenia bloc 12 seats.
Medianews.az reports that the Armenian parliament has at least 101 members, and based on the election results, the number of members can increase.
The current parliament, elected in 2021, has 107 members. The Civil Contract Party holds 69 seats, the Armenia bloc 28, the "Proud" bloc associated with former president Serzh Sargsyan 6, and independents have 4 seats.
Serzh Sargsyan's Republican Party of Armenia did not participate in the June 7 election.
The Strong Armenia bloc is a new force in parliament. The leading force in this bloc is the Strong Armenia Party, led by Samvel Karapetyan. Born in 1965, Samvel Karapetyan is a businessman operating in Russia. In June 2025, he was arrested on charges of calling for a forcible seizure of power and was released to house arrest in December. The Strong Armenia Party was established in January 2026.
Compared to the current parliament, the Armenia bloc loses 16 seats. This bloc is led by Robert Kocharyan. Born in 1954, Robert Kocharyan was the head of the occupying regime in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan from 1992-1997. In March 1997, he took over the post of Prime Minister of Armenia. In February 1998, President Levon Ter-Petrosyan resigned. Robert Kocharyan, acting as president with the authority of prime minister, was elected head of state in 1998 and 2003.
Born in 1975, Nikol Pashinyan assumed the prime minister's seat on May 8, 2018, amid a wave of revolution. In the snap parliamentary election held on December 9 of that year, Nikol Pashinyan's "My Step" bloc won, and in the snap parliamentary election held on June 20, 2021, the Civil Contract Party emerged victorious.
Victory in the June 7 election gives Nikol Pashinyan the opportunity to form a single-party government again.
