A former official of the Neftchala District Executive Authority has been held criminally liable.
According to information obtained by “Qafqazinfo,” Gulqadam Mirzazade, who served as the representative for the city administrative territorial district during the term of the former district executive head Ismayil Valiyev, who is currently in detention, is accused of embezzlement.
During the investigation conducted by the Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that she embezzled a significant amount of funds by abusing her official position. The accused person is not in custody; a preventative measure of "undertaking not to leave" has been selected for her until the trial.
Since 2015, G. Mirzazade has been the chairman of the public association "Support for the Social Development of Women in Neftchala."
The preliminary investigation on the case has been completed. If her guilt is proven, the female accused faces up to 5 years of imprisonment.
Gulqadam Mirzazade’s activities are mainly related to Ismayil Valiyev’s period. It was I. Valiyev who appointed her to the position of representative for the Neftchala city administrative territorial district. During her term, her name was involved in various scandals. In the media, claims have been spread that she beat a citizen who demanded her debt and that her diploma was forged. After I. Valiyev was detained, G. Mirzazade continued her activities for 2 years as a rural executive representative.
It should be recalled that Ismayil Valiyev, who was found guilty of corruption crimes, was sentenced to 6 years and 2 months in prison.
