FIFA accepted Iran's request

The location of the Iran national team's training camp before the 2026 World Cup has been changed.

Medianews.az reports that FIFA has approved the team's request to move the camp from the USA to Mexico. The training camp will be held in Tijuana, a city located near the US border on the Pacific coast of Mexico.

Mehdi Taj, president of the Iran Football Federation, stated that after meetings held in Istanbul with FIFA officials and World Cup organizers, as well as a videoconference with the FIFA secretary general, this decision was confirmed.

The team will play all three group matches in the USA.

Currently, the Iran national team is continuing its World Cup preparations in the Antalya region of Turkey. The team will train here until June 5 and will play friendly matches against Gambia on May 29 and Mali on June 4. The final 26-man squad for the World Cup will be announced on June 1./"Unikal"
