At the Ana Vətən Party's congress yesterday, former Member of Parliament Fəzail Ağamalı, who declared his resignation from the chairman position but later announced that he withdrew his resignation after the voting results, fell ill.
According to information obtained by Manset.az, late last night Fəzail Ağamalı suddenly had a health problem. Emergency medical assistance was immediately called from one of the private clinics located in the capital. He was given initial medical aid and treatment was prescribed.
Fəzail Ağamalı confirmed the fact to Manset.az. He stated that what happened at the congress yesterday affected him badly:
"I still cannot recover from what happened yesterday. Suddenly at night, I began to feel unwell. We immediately called my family doctor. He provided me with medical assistance. The doctor said it was due to stress and nervous tension. You know I have had heart surgery. It is very unfortunate that despite this, my son is still not remorseful."
It should be noted that a scandal occurred at the congress of the Ana Vətən Party, chaired by Fəzail Ağamalı, held the day before yesterday. F. Ağamalı wanted to hand over the party leadership to the deputy's daughter Günay Ağamalı. However, a part of the party members supported the candidacy of his son Elçin Ağamalı. There was tension between F. Ağamalı and his son at the congress.
