Eldar explained the reason for the failures in "Eurovision"

"Eurovision 2011" winner Eldar Gasimov has commented on Azerbaijan's unsuccessful performances in the contest in recent years.

Axşam.az reports that the singer spoke about our representatives not being able to qualify for the final stage in the last four years while guesting on the "Künc-bucaq" project. Eldar stated that instead of searching for the cause of the problem, the approach to the contest needs to be changed:

"There is no need to look for the cause. I think a different approach is necessary. Selections should be done differently. Foreign authors should be invited. They should write songs together with our authors. They should find a good performer and present a composition to them. They need to change the approach and find the right way."

The singer emphasized that in the modern era, stage performance alone is not enough to succeed in the contest:

"Now it is not just about performance, but also about communication, PR, and the ability to show one's influence. If we change the format, we can achieve interesting results."
