Access to the "Snapchat" application has been restricted in Russia on the grounds of its alleged use in criminal activities. It has been reported that the application is used for organizing terrorist activities and fraud.
According to Milli.Az, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media of Russia (Roskomnadzor) has provided information regarding access problems experienced on "Snapchat" since October. The agency stated that through the application it is possible to organize, carry out, and recruit participants for terrorist activities in the country, as well as to commit fraud and other crimes against citizens.
For this reason, it has been noted that access to "Snapchat" has been completely blocked.
For the same reason, Roskomnadzor also imposed an access ban on the FaceTime application today. Previously, access to social media platforms such as Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram had also been restricted in Russia.
