Traffic jams on the roads, especially the congestion that occurs during morning and evening rush hours, is one of the main issues that annoys all of us. Observations show that one of the reasons for traffic jams on the roads is a certain car breaking down.
So, which cars break down more often and require frequent technical inspections?
Transport expert Elmaddin Muradli told Lent.az that traffic jams occur because drivers do not take timely care of their cars:
"Instances of technically faulty cars being stuck on the roads have been increasingly observed recently. The main reason for this is that drivers do not provide timely technical maintenance for their vehicles, they do not ensure the car's technical condition before heading out, and they do not check it. This causes other drivers to suffer. Specifically, I do not think it is appropriate to mention any specific car brand because even the latest model can break down on the road due to an electrical system problem or some technical defect. Of course, accidental incidents also happen here, but based on our analyses, I can say that our drivers are far from the concept of providing technical maintenance to their vehicles. For some reason, they wait for the car to be completely broken down, to the point where it cannot be driven, and only then take it to a mechanic. Naturally, it should not be like this. Periodic technical inspections and maintenance must be done on time."
On the other hand, transport expert Eldeniz Jafarov stated that cars break down due to traffic jams:
"In Baku city, most cars break down in traffic jams. Cars that spend hours on the road or move slowly in heavy traffic develop certain issues. Mainly, engine overheating and problems in the cooling system cause malfunctions in cars."
Car mechanic Sahil Agabeyli spoke about potential problems that can arise in cars by brands:
"There are some cars for which it is not necessary to get a technical inspection before a long trip, because they are among the reliable ones. This depends on the brand. For example, before going on a long trip with a Chevrolet Cruze, it is necessary to check its heating system issues, the fan, thermostat, and rinse the radiator fins with water. This is because cars of this brand most often come to the mechanic with complaints about overheating. Special attention must be given to the oil and cooling system of Hyundai cars. Usually, Audi cars have problems related to the transmission. Besides all these exceptions, every car must undergo a general technical inspection before the trip. If a car has been driven 5000 km and 4000 km have been completed, the engine oil must be changed. After 70-80% of usage, the oil must be urgently replaced."
