Drank on the holiday, punched his uncle — Court

A young man beat his uncle at a family gathering in Tovuz. The incident occurred in the Tovuz district.

According to the information obtained by Demokrat.az, Mahmud, born in 1996, visited his uncle Adil's house at around 6 p.m. on March 21. There, he had an argument with his other uncle, Ahmad. During the conflict, which arose from personal relations, Mahmud repeatedly punched Ahmad in the face. Following the incident, Mahmud was charged under Article 128 of the Criminal Code by law enforcement agencies.

Mahmud, who gave a statement regarding the case, said his relationship with Uncle Ahmad was always normal:

"On March 21, around 6 p.m., I went to my uncle Adil's house together with my aunt's husband, Gabil. We consumed alcoholic beverages and ate together. Because I consumed excessive alcoholic drinks, I was intoxicated. That day, around 9 p.m., because I was drunk, I used inappropriate expressions towards my uncle Ahmad. During the resulting argument, I punched my uncle in the face."

At the court hearing, the accused, expressing remorse, stated that he reconciled with his uncle Ahmad. He promised not to commit any unlawful acts against his uncle in the future and asked the judge for forgiveness.

Ahmad, recognized as the victim in the case, also declared in his statement that he reconciled with his nephew Mahmud. The uncle emphasized that he had no complaints or demands against his relative.

With the verdict of the Tovuz District Court, the reconciliation of the parties was taken as the basis. Therefore, the criminal prosecution against Mahmud was terminated, and he was released from criminal liability.
