The Telegram account of Iqbal Ağazadə, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Hope Party, has become a target of cyber fraudsters.
Medianews.az reports that the politician himself has warned about this on his social media account.
Iqbal Ağazadə stated that fraudsters have taken over his Telegram account linked to his personal number and are sending messages in his name to his contacts, demanding that money be transferred to certain card accounts. The party chairman has asked his acquaintances and followers not to respond to such messages sent in his name and not to send money.
The politician also contacted Elshad Hajiyev, the head of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), regarding the issue and requested assistance:
"Dear Elshad Hajiyev, the owner of the relevant card numbers used by the fraudsters has stolen my Telegram number, is sending messages to the people in my contacts in my name, and requesting money. Please, I ask you to assist in this matter."
