“The problem of the grave monument of People's Artist Anvar Hasanov still not being installed should be dealt with by the relevant authorities, more precisely the ministry. His family and you journalists should apply to the ministry. As far as I know, there are many such artists. One’s tombstone has not been placed, another’s tombstone has been dismantled. The relevant authorities should take an interest in these matters. This is not within the jurisdiction of either the theater or the film studio and film union. As you know, currently film production is also very weak. They do not have budgets either.”

This was stated to Medianews.az by People's Artist, actor of the Academic National Drama Theater, Rafiq Azimov.
The artist said that he had repeatedly informed officials about the shortcomings in this field, but there was no result:
“In my view, it is essential that the relevant authorities be sincere about such work. You say it, but your words fall on deaf ears, and one feels ashamed of oneself. At such moments, I feel very bad afterwards. There have been times when I met some officials face-to-face, begged them, and they responded with words like ‘we will look into it’, ‘we will see’, ‘it is not possible’. They don’t listen to a person’s words. Our words remain in the air. I do not want to mention names, but concerning the difficult situations of several of our fellow artists, Rashim Balayev, Shafika Khanum Mammadova and I have also applied to the relevant authorities. As long as there is a result. Previously, these topics would not come to light. Neither journalists wrote nor broadcasts showed them. Because this attitude towards actors also irritated the audiences themselves. Previously, when an artist or people’s artist passed away, they were taken from the theater. Gradually everything became cheapened. It should not have been like this. The tradition of seeing an actor off from the stage for the last time with applause has now been forgotten.”
