Milli.Az reports that this was stated by oncologist Preeti Subhedar in her statement.

According to Subhedar, the changes in metabolism that occur after this age combined with improper nutrition can lead to serious health problems. She emphasized that symptoms such as constant thirst and swelling of the face and eyelids in the mornings may indicate problems in the body.

The specialist noted the importance of prioritizing whole grains, fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, legumes, and lean protein sources in the daily diet of people over 50.

Additionally, a study published in The Journal of Nutrition, Health and Aging stated that foods rich in lycopene (especially tomatoes and tomato products) play an important role in preventing gum diseases.

Experts emphasize that a balanced and conscious diet after the age of 50 can help both reduce the risk of cancer and maintain overall health.
