The neighboring country was hit by frost - Schools closed

The cold and rainy weather conditions engulfing Turkey have paralyzed life. According to official information given for January 14, due to heavy snowfall, icing, and frost danger, lessons have been postponed in many regions of the country.

Milli.Az reports that education has been suspended due to snow in more than 30 provinces. In some cities, all schools are closed, while in others, only the lessons of students coming from villages have been canceled.

In Tunceli, Gümüşhane, Erzincan, Ardahan, Bayburt, Kars, and Ağrı, schools are closed throughout the province, including the city centers.

Education has been halted in many districts of Şırnak, Ordu, Giresun, Rize, Erzurum, Yozgat, Kastamonu, Artvin, Van, Bingöl, Sivas, Malatya, Trabzon, Konya, Adıyaman, Elazığ, Samsun, Tokat, and Sinop.

Relevant authorities state that not only the snowfall but also the strong icing and frost that will occur on the roads pose a serious risk to movement.

Due to the worsening weather conditions, difficulties have also arisen in transportation movement in some regions. Residents are advised not to use private cars unless necessary and to follow the weather forecast.
