A weak magnetic storm has started on Earth due to the effect of the coronal hole on the Sun.
Oxu.Az reports that this information was released by the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics.
It was noted that the peak of the event was recorded around 06:00 Baku time and reached G1.3 on the scale ranging from 1 to 5.
According to the laboratory's information, the total duration of geomagnetic disturbances can last up to two days. Scientists note that during this period, the storm is unlikely to increase beyond the G2 (moderate) level.
G1 level magnetic storms can have minor effects on the control systems of spacecraft, and during weak storms, auroras may be observed at high latitudes (up to 60 degrees).
