Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reacted strongly to the provocation against the Turkish flag and stated that those responsible will definitely be punished.
According to Milli.Az, Erdoğan stated that the dirty hands reaching out to the flag will definitely be found and the culprits will be held accountable for this betrayal.
According to him, appropriate investigations have been initiated by the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Justice, and based on the results of the investigation, legal actions will be taken against anyone negligent or guilty.
It should be noted that on January 20, in the Nusaybin district of Mardin province, unknown individuals carried out a provocation against the Turkish flag, lowering it halfway. The incident occurred following a demonstration held to protest the situation on the Syrian side.
The Ministries of National Defense and Interior are conducting administrative and legal investigations regarding the incident at the border.
