Following the attacks by the US and Israel, on the 40th day of the war, amid a ceasefire, Iran has stated that it approaches the talks cautiously and is ready for a long-term war if no result is achieved.
According to Medianews.az, the spokesperson of the Iranian Army, Brigadier General Mohammad Ekremnia, spoke to the state television.
He stated that the ceasefire was accepted by the opposing side as a result of Iran's firm stance, and the negotiations are conducted based on the conditions proposed by Tehran.
He noted that although official Tehran wants the talks to be successful, if no result is achieved, it is ready for a long-term confrontation.
Ekremnia also emphasized that they do not trust the US, recalling that the opposing side demonstrated an unreliable position during the 2015 nuclear deal.
The spokesperson said that Iran’s military preparations are ongoing and the country is ready for possible tensions.
Additionally, he touched upon the draft law concerning the Strait of Hormuz, noting that applying payment for passage could provide economic benefits to the country.
