A warning was issued to the neighboring country about a 40-degree frost.

Until January 19, an anomalous cold weather condition will prevail in Siberia.

This was stated by Aleksandr Shuvalov, head of the "Meteo" forecast center, to the "RIA Novosti" agency.

According to the meteorologist, severe cold is expected in the Tomsk and Novosibirsk regions, as well as in the southern areas of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In these areas, temperatures will reach minus 40 degrees Celsius by January 19. Frosts will also intensify in the Omsk region and the Altai Territory, where temperatures will drop to minus 35 degrees Celsius before the Epiphany holiday.

Shuvalov stated that on the 16th, Friday, the cold wave will reach the Ural Mountains. The temperature drop there will not be very severe, but further east—in Tatarstan, Udmurtia, and some parts of the Kirov region—the temperature may fall to minus 25-30 degrees Celsius. In the central part of the country, meteorologists expect night temperatures around minus 20-25 degrees and daytime temperatures around minus 15 degrees.

In Moscow, on January 19, the temperature will be minus 20-25 degrees Celsius, and on the 20th-21st, it will drop further to minus 30 degrees Celsius. (baku.ws)
