Political scientist Elkhan Shahinoglu commented tonight to Medianews.az on the incident of Russian drones violating the airspace of Poland, a NATO country.

He reminded that Russian President Vladimir Putin frequently repeats the same idea to portray himself as a "peacemaker" against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine: "Russia has no intention of attacking NATO countries. Those who think like that in Western countries have lost their minds."
E. Shahinoglu emphasized that the Kremlin owner has lied many times so far, and this is one of them: "If it were not for Putin's order, Russian drones would not have entered the airspace of Poland, a NATO member. The drones passed through Ukraine's western regions to enter Poland's airspace. The war is taking place in eastern Ukraine, but Russian drones have traveled thousands of kilometers from the front line."
According to the political scientist, Putin is engaged in falsely praising US President Donald Trump, while in reality he continues to damage the image of the White House occupant: "After the Presidents' meeting in Alaska, Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine has expanded, Kyiv, the capital, is being bombed, civilians are dying.
By targeting Poland, Putin is testing the pulse of NATO and Washington. If Washington and Brussels do not take swift measures, after Poland, Russian drones will also be seen in the airspace of other NATO members such as the Baltic countries, including Finland."
