Participants of the First and Second Karabakh wars can simultaneously fully benefit from pension and scholarship rights.
Medianews.az reports that this information was provided by the State Social Protection Fund in response to Trend's inquiry.
It was stated that participants of the First and Second Karabakh wars (war veterans, those not considered military servicemen, soldiers without military ranks) who reach the retirement age specified by legislation and whose individual personal account's insurance portion records a pension capital that allows for a pension provision not less than the minimum amount of labor pension, regardless of insurance length of service, or if this pension capital does not allow such provision but they have at least 25 years of insurance length of service, acquire the right to a labor pension based on age:
"For fixed-term active military service personnel (soldiers) determined to have 81-100 percent disability as a result of impairment of body functions related to the war from the mentioned category, a disability labor pension is assigned regardless of service duration.
At the same time, the periods of combat while serving in the fighting army are counted double towards their service length. This affects both their pension eligibility and the amount of pension."
It was particularly emphasized that for fixed-term active military service personnel (soldiers), including those among them who are war participants, there is no legal norm providing for age reduction:
"Persons granted war veteran status, as well as those disabled due to performance of military service duties, in addition to pension or allowance, are also paid a Presidential scholarship. As can be seen, they can fully benefit from pension and scholarship rights at the same time. That is, when persons from the mentioned category retire based on age for a labor pension, the payment of the Presidential scholarship is not suspended."
It was noted that the amounts of the above mentioned scholarships are respectively 80, 400, 500 and 600 manats.
