Weddings in Azerbaijan are considered one of the biggest sources of income for show business figures. Especially gatherings involving famous singers attract attention both for their splendor and high fees. In recent years, discussions about the artists’ wedding prices have increased significantly. In many cases, the amount requested for a half-hour performance exceeds the monthly income of ordinary citizens several times over.
So how much do Azerbaijan's well-known singers charge to participate in a wedding event? What is the difference between the price for a half-hour program and that for the entire wedding? Who are the most expensive artists and why do their demanded amounts vary?
Medianews.az reports that "Yeni Sabah" has conducted a study on how much representatives of Azerbaijani show business charge for weddings.
We present the results of the study:
1. People's Artist Faiq Agayev only performs for half an hour at weddings. He does not attend full or one-hour wedding events. The price for the artist’s half-hour performance at a wedding is 10 thousand manats.
2. Günay İbrahimli requires 6 thousand manats to participate for half an hour at weddings. Managing the entire wedding, including sound system, ensemble, and vocalist, costs 15 thousand manats.
3. Murad Arif demands 4 thousand manats for a half-hour performance. The price for the entire wedding is 14 thousand manats.
4. Xəyyam Nisanov charges 5 thousand manats for a half-hour at wedding events in Baku. The price for the full wedding is 15 thousand manats.
5. Honored Artist Abbas Bağırov requests 6 thousand manats for a half-hour performance at wedding events, and 18 thousand manats to manage the entire wedding.
6. Honored Artist Ədalət Şükürov earns 4 thousand manats for a half-hour performance and 6 thousand manats for an hour-long performance. The artist does not attend full wedding events.
7. Singer Manaf Agayev demands 3,500 manats for performing at a full wedding event. He attends the event with his own ensemble and brings one female singer.
8. People's Artist Tünzalə Ağayeva performs for half an hour and 45 minutes at wedding events. She requires 6,500 manats for a half-hour and 10 thousand manats for a 45-minute performance.
9. Honored Artist Manana Caparidze demands 5 thousand manats for a half-hour and 7 thousand manats for a one-hour performance at weddings in Baku. The artist does not participate in full wedding events.
10. Xatirə İslam charges 5 thousand manats for a half-hour performance, 12 thousand manats for the full wedding with ensemble, and 8 thousand manats without an ensemble.
11. Kəmalə Güneşli earns 2 thousand manats for a one-hour event, 5 thousand manats for the full wedding with an ensemble, and 3,500 manats without an ensemble.
12. Xuraman Şuşalı demands 1,500 manats for a half-hour performance, 2 thousand manats for an hour, and 4 thousand manats for the entire event. If she performs at the entire event with musicians, the price is 6 thousand manats.
13. People's Artist Brilyant Dadaşova earns 8 thousand manats from a half-hour performance and 15 thousand manats for managing the entire wedding.
14. People's Artist Zülfiye Xanbabayeva only participates for half an hour at weddings. The artist requests 7 thousand manats for this performance.
15. People's Artist Eyyub Yaqubov does not attend full wedding events. He earns 4 thousand manats for a half-hour performance.
16. Cəmilə Bayramova, known by the nickname Elit Star, only performs for half an hour at events. She receives 500 manats for this performance.
17. Honored Artist Könül Kərimova demands 3 thousand manats for a half-hour performance, 4 thousand manats for an hour, and 10 thousand manats for full participation at wedding events.
18. Honored Artist Elnarə Abdullayeva charges 4 thousand manats for a half-hour performance, 7 thousand manats for managing the wedding alone, and 12 thousand manats for performing with an ensemble.
