David Barnea, the director of Israel's "Mossad" intelligence service, has traveled to the United States to hold consultations regarding the situation surrounding Iran.
Medianews.az, citing Western media, reports that Barnea plans to meet with Steve Whitkoff, the White House special representative.
Whitkoff is one of the main representatives of the direct communication channel between the US and Iran.
It is not yet known whether the "Mossad" chief will meet with US President Donald Trump.
Western media writes that Washington does not rule out a military intervention if violence against protesters in Iran intensifies again. The US is preparing to send additional military forces to the region.
