The ordinary foam sponge that most of us use is actually one of the dirtiest items in the house.

Demokrat.az reports that kitchen sponges, which are widely used, are increasingly considered dangerous and unhygienic, leading to new alternatives coming to the fore. Ordinary sponges are actually considered one of the dirtiest items in the house. Their porous structure creates a favorable environment for bacteria to multiply rapidly, because the sponge remains damp constantly. The unpleasant odor that develops over time is explained by the decay of food residues and the activity of microorganisms inside.

The article notes that alongside hygiene problems, ordinary sponges are also considered aesthetically outdated. Bright neon colors create visual discord in modern kitchen design and disrupt the appearance of the sink area.

Recently, an improved tool has replaced the old method – wooden brushes made from natural fibers.
