The body of Vladislav Baumgertner, a Russian businessman who went missing in Cyprus and the former head of the "Uralkaliy" company, has been found.
Oxu.az reports that his body was found the day before yesterday. The forensic examination carried out today confirmed that the body belonged to the 56-year-old businessman.
The businessman went missing after leaving his home in Cyprus on January 7.
The cause of death has not been determined; various versions ranging from accident to crime are being considered.
According to the information released, the businessman was an avid climber and had decided to go again on a difficult route.
Sources stated that windy weather conditions were observed in Cyprus that day. His body was found in a mountainous area and was in a stage of decomposition.
The report states that the said businessman led the "Uralkaliy" company from 2005 to 2011. He became more famous after being arrested in Belarus in 2013 on charges of misuse of official powers.
After being handed over to the Russian side, the businessman was released due to lack of evidence of a crime.
