The regime was already rotten and lost its legitimacy; after this tragedy, moreover under conditions of economic collapse and other severe social and ecological problems, it is very difficult to endure without serious external support. At the same time, it is clear that foreign influence is needed for change to occur.
That is, there will also be an indirect struggle between external powers, on one hand interested in keeping the regime standing, and on the other hand wanting to dismantle it."
