The protests in Iran have been completely suppressed.

The Iranian authorities have almost completely quashed the widespread protests raging across the country by employing large-scale force.

The situation in the country has now stabilized and the demonstrations have begun to subside. However, although the protests have calmed down, on January 16, the government announced a new wave of mass arrests of participants.

The agency writes that the internet remains blocked inside Iran. Nevertheless, some residents have been able to transmit information abroad. According to them, since January 11, silence has prevailed in the capital Tehran, the streets are empty, and the situation is being monitored by drones from the air.

Human rights organizations, especially "Hengaw," report that a large number of military personnel and security forces have been deployed to cities and towns that were previously centers of the protests. Iran's "Tasnim" agency confirmed today that several thousand people involved in the riots and considered "members of terrorist groups" have been detained.

It should be noted that at the peak of the protests, demonstrators had declared that they had taken control of some cities and districts. Milli.Az
