Will robots replace humans? - Ambitious plan for the year 2040

Japan has announced its new strategy that envisions the use of 10 million artificial intelligence-supported robots in 18 different fields by 2040.

Medianews.az reports that according to the plan prepared by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the goal is to compensate for the problems caused by the decreasing workforce in the country.

Robots are planned to be applied in 18 sectors including manufacturing, technical maintenance of infrastructure, healthcare, elderly care, emergency response, and defense.

The government will also allocate 380 billion yen for the development of artificial intelligence technologies that are not limited to computer screens but can operate in the physical environment.

Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Akazawa Ryosei stated that the data collected across various fields will help Japan become one of the world leaders in developing artificial intelligence technologies for robots.
