The health of public figure Ilham Ismayil, who is being treated at the State Security Service's (DTX) hospital, has improved.
According to information obtained from Ilham Ismayil's close acquaintances by Medianews.az, he has developed an ulcer in the duodenum, which can be treated and eliminated through therapy.
Ilham Ismayil suffers from cardiovascular disease. Having caught a cold in recent days and resting at home, Ilham Ismayil was admitted to the hospital on January 18 with a diagnosis of internal bleeding.
Born in 1957, Ilham Ismayil is a veteran of the First Karabakh War and holds the rank of lieutenant colonel.
He graduated from the Journalism Faculty at Baku State University and the Minsk Higher Course of the USSR State Security Committee. He served in positions such as operative representative and chief operative representative at the Ganja City Department of the State Security Committee (National Security Ministry). He was head of the Shamakhi and Goychay divisions of the National Security Ministry and also headed a department in the ministry.
Ilham Ismayil was one of the most active participants in the operations to liberate the Ganjabasar region from Armenian occupation in 1990-1991, and also fought in some sections of the border with Armenia.
He has been engaged in socio-political activities since 1995. He is recognized as an expert on security issues.
