Medianews.az, referring to Publika.az, reports that within the preparations, one of the city’s most prestigious hotels (according to some sources Serena Hotel) has been completely vacated by government order.
In an official notice sent by the hotel management to customers, it was stated that from April 8 until Sunday evening, the building is requisitioned for an important state event. According to information obtained by TASS, the hotel is preparing to host the delegations of the USA and Iran. Although it has not yet been confirmed whether the meetings will be held directly at this location, security measures have been raised to the highest level.
Recall that on April 7, US President Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran. The White House chief stated that the parties had resolved almost all contentious issues and accepted the 10-point proposal plan presented by Tehran as the "working basis." In response to this easing, Iran has stated its readiness to open the Strait of Hormuz for international shipping.
The Iranian side also declared that if no strikes are carried out on the country’s territory, it agrees to stop defensive attacks. The mediation mission in this major peace process has been taken on by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. It is expected that at his invitation, the parties will meet in Islamabad on April 10. According to the latest information from Iran, the likelihood of these meetings being held in a direct format is quite high.
