Agrarian insurance courses have started to be taught at Baku State University (BSU) from the 2025-2026 academic year.
Medianews.az reports that the Ministry of Agriculture has issued a statement about this.
It was stated that the course titled "Risk and Damage Assessment in Crop Insurance" is taught at the master's level of the university's Faculty of Biology:
"Within the framework of the agrarian insurance course, students learn about the risks caused to crop fields by various natural events and other factors, assessment of these risks, investigation of insurance incidents, and methodologies for calculating damages.
It is planned that this mentioned course on agrarian insurance will also be taught at the bachelor's level in the future at Baku State University."
It should be noted that in the agrarian insurance mechanism provided with state support in Azerbaijan, the investigation of insurance events and the correct calculation of damages are of great importance. Insurance payments to the farms that have suffered damage are determined precisely based on these calculations.
