"Eurovision 2026": Which countries have held elections?

35 countries are participating in the "Eurovision 2026" international song contest to be held in Vienna, the capital of Austria.

Medianews.az reports that 17 of them have determined their representatives: Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Israel, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom.

In the first semi-final (May 12), Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Croatia, Israel, Sweden, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Serbia, Greece, and in the second semi-final (May 14), Albania, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Armenia, Switzerland, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Romania, Ukraine have fallen.

There are 10 spots from each semi-final to the final. Germany, Austria, United Kingdom, France, and Italy will join the competition in the final (May 16).

The public broadcasting institution - a project of the European Broadcasting Union, "Eurovision" contest, since 1956, Ireland and Sweden have won 7 times, Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, and United Kingdom 5 times, Israel 4 times, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Austria, Norway, and Ukraine 3 times, Spain and Germany 2 times, Monaco, Belgium, Yugoslavia, Estonia, Latvia, Turkey, Greece, Finland, Serbia, Russia, Azerbaijan, and Portugal once.

Azerbaijan has participated in 17 competitions, in 2008 Elnur Hüseynov and Samir Cavadzade ranked 8th, in 2009 Aysel Teymurzade and Arash ranked 3rd, in 2010 Safura Alizade ranked 5th, in 2011 Nigar Jamal and Eldar Gasimov ranked 1st, in 2012 Sabina Babayeva ranked 4th, in 2013 Farid Mammadov ranked 2nd, in 2014 Dilara Kazimova ranked 22nd, in 2015 Elnur Hüseynov ranked 12th, in 2016 Samra Rahimli ranked 17th, in 2017 Diana Hajiyeva ranked 14th, in 2019 Chingiz Mustafayev ranked 8th, in 2021 Samira Efendi ranked 20th, in 2022 Nadir Rustamli ranked 16th.

In 2018 Aysel Mammadova, in 2023 Tural and Turan Bagmanov, in 2024 Fakhrı Ismayilov and Ilkin Dövletov, and in 2025 the group "Mamaqama" did not pass the semi-final.
