Scientists who help the brain stay 8 years younger They have explained daily habits

Sometimes expensive drugs or complex procedures are not needed to slow down brain aging.

Medianews.az, citing foodinfo.az, reports that scientists at the University of Florida have identified simple lifestyle habits that "rejuvenate" human brain activity by up to 8 years as a result of their study. The results of the research were published in the scientific journal "Brain Communications".

The experiment, which lasted two years, involved 128 middle-aged and older individuals suffering from chronic pain. The scientists assessed the brain activity of the participants using magnetic resonance imaging and artificial intelligence-based analysis methods. During the comparison, it was found that there was a significant difference between some people's "brain age" and their actual age.

The researchers explained seven key habits that help keep the brain healthy and slow down the aging process. These include quitting smoking, maintaining normal body weight (waist circumference should not exceed 80 cm in women and 94 cm in men), optimistic thinking, predominance of positive emotions, stress reduction, social support from family and friends, as well as quality sleep.

The head of the study, Professor Kimberly Sybil from the University of Florida, said that a healthy lifestyle not only improves physical condition but also has a strong impact on brain function. According to her, these simple changes significantly enhance a person's learning ability, memory, and emotional stability.

The scientists believe that such daily habits can also help prevent diseases like dementia and Alzheimer’s in the long term.
