According to claims published in the US press, the Washington administration is preparing a new military plan against Iran. Within the framework of the plan, the main target may be Iran's military facilities and capabilities in the Strait of Hormuz.
Medianews.az reports, referring to the US CNN International channel, that the Pentagon is considering various attack options aimed at Iran's positions in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the information, the targets of the attacks include the means that protect Iran's influence in the region, including the Revolutionary Guard Corps' (SEPAH) fast attack boats and mine-laying ships.
The report notes that in one of the alternative plans, the possibility of targeting Iran's military leadership is also considered. In addition, it is emphasized that the US may restart operations against Iran's missile reserves and launch facilities.
It should be noted that after the confrontation began with the US and Israel's attack on Iran on February 28, a two-week temporary ceasefire was achieved on April 8. The talks held in Pakistan on April 11 ended unsuccessfully. Subsequent attempts at talks mediated by Pakistan also failed due to disagreements between the parties, especially because of the naval blockade imposed by the US.
Although US President Donald Trump announced that the ceasefire had been extended, Iran has not yet made an official statement on this decision.
