A stern warning from the USA: "Anyone who buys Iranian oil will be taken to court"

The US Department of Justice plans to hold all parties who buy or sell sanctioned Iranian oil accountable in court.

Regarding this, Todd Blanch, acting US Attorney General, made a statement on his social media platform "X".

"The Department of Justice will unequivocally prosecute anyone involved in the trade of sanctioned Iranian oil," he said.

It should be noted that earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that he wanted to establish a "full blockade" regime on Iran at sea. This resembles similar measures taken against Venezuela late last year.

Recall that on February 28, Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the Israel Defense Forces had launched a preemptive strike against Iran. Later, US President Donald Trump stated that his country also participated in the military operation against Iran.

In turn, Iran launched dozens of ballistic missiles at Israel. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the strikes, sirens sounded across the country, and air defense systems were activated.

On March 1, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei announced that the attacks resulted in deaths.

Iran launched missile strikes on most neighboring countries hosting US military bases. As a result, airspace in those countries was temporarily closed.

Meanwhile, serious problems arose in the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

On April 8, just hours before the deadline for the ultimatum Donald Trump gave to Tehran expired, Washington announced it agreed to a two-week ceasefire./oxu.az
