On the eve of the 2026 World Cup, banned substances (doping) were detected in the tests of eight players of the Tunisian national team.
Medianews.az reports that this information was published by "The Times" newspaper.
Traces of the banned substance clenbuterol were found in the athletes' blood. It is assumed that this substance entered through local meat given during the team's training camp in Mexico. The clubs where the players perform have been informed about the results, but serious sanctions are not expected.
It should be noted that the Tunisian national team lost to the Netherlands team in the third round of the World Cup. The game ended with a score of 3:1.
