In addition to ballistic and cruise missiles, the Russian army has launched more than 300 strike drones into Ukrainian territory.
Musavat.com reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement about this on his Telegram channel.
According to Zelensky, initial reports have already come from the regions, and the strikes covered Kyiv and Kyiv region, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava region, and other areas. Currently, repair brigades, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, and other relevant agencies are working in an intensified mode across all regions.
The Ukrainian president stated that during the attack the Russian army used a large number of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as more than 300 kamikaze-type unmanned aerial vehicles. According to him, Ukraine’s air defense forces managed to destroy many targets.
Zelensky emphasized that a day before the attack, Ukraine finally received the long-awaited air defense missiles. According to the president, this assistance significantly prevented the consequences of the attack from being more severe.
“Every batch of support is of vital importance. Missiles for the ‘Patriot’, ‘Nasams’, and other air defense systems are extremely important. The direct task of our diplomacy is to ensure that Ukraine has sufficient air defense means. Our partners must not abandon us halfway on this issue. Missiles for air defense are a real defense of people’s lives,” Zelensky stressed.
Ukrainian officials state that accurate information regarding the results of the attack is being clarified and the damage to civilian infrastructure is being assessed. Analysts evaluate this large-scale attack as one of the most extensive air operations in recent times of the Russia-Ukraine war.
