There have been reports that the number of people killed during the suppression of protest actions in the Islamic Republic of Iran has exceeded 2,000. At the same time, it is reported that more than 100 police and other security force representatives have been killed.
According to Musavat.com, a number of international organizations have already responded to the events.
"Since January 28, 2025, the Iranian government has significantly intensified deadly crackdowns on protesters. Reliable sources indicate that security forces have carried out large-scale killings within the country," says the statement from the "Human Rights Watch" organization.
It is reported that according to Iranian civil society organizations and media, the number of deaths in the protests has reached thousands, but the internet shutdown has limited the ability to independently verify these figures.
The statement highlights that the Iranian government cut off the internet. It is noted that this factor has complicated the documentation of extrajudicial killings and other human rights violations.
"Human Rights Watch" has said it has collected new evidence, including videos confirmed from morgues and hospitals, as well as witness statements.
According to information distributed by Gunaz.tv, the organization has called on UN member states to immediately demand that Iranian authorities end the killings, grant full and unhindered access to the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Iran, and restore access to the global internet.
