Some perfumes used at home are dangerous for health.

According to the investigation by France's "60 Millions de Consommateurs" organization reported by Milli.Az, fragrance sticks release carcinogenic substances such as formaldehyde, benzene, ethylbenzene, furfural, styrene, toluene, and acetaldehyde. The concentration of these substances often exceeds the safe level of room air by several times.

Fragrance sticks also release micro-particles in high concentration, which can enter the lungs and pass through the capillaries into the bloodstream.

The safest home fragrance method is considered to be aroma diffusers. The solutions used in these products are prepared with glycol ethers at safe levels. Sometimes they may be rich in essential oils, but carcinogenic substances are either absent or present at very low safe concentrations.
