Tomorrow, the month of Muharram begins in Azerbaijan.
According to the information from the Caucasus Muslims Office, from June 16, the first day of the month of Muharram is observed throughout the country.
In the appeal of the Council of Qazis and authorized representatives of the institution, it is stated that during the mourning ceremonies held in the months of Muharram and Safar, it is recommended to avoid behaviors that are inconsistent with religion, especially cases such as causing bodily harm and self-injury.
It is also noted that religious ceremonies should only be held in mosques and pilgrimage sites, in accordance with the requirements of current legislation. It is emphasized that street marches, actions disturbing public order, and situations inappropriate to state symbols are unacceptable.
