A strong fire broke out at the "CET Vest" thermal power plant in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

According to initial information, the fire was caused by the explosion of an electrical transformer filled with nearly 30 tons of oil.
Five fire protection brigades mobilized to the scene managed to completely extinguish the flames within a few hours.
There is no information about any casualties.
Although the "Elcen" company announced that the electricity supply has been fully restored, over 2,000 residential neighborhoods in Bucharest were deprived of hot water (heating system) as a result of the incident.
It is said that the full restoration of infrastructure at the power plant may take up to one year.
