More than 3,000 trucks are waiting in line at the Georgian border.

Due to heavy snow, a hurricane, and a snowstorm, a number of internationally significant roads in Georgia, including the Upper Lars highway leading to Russia, have been closed.

AZERTAC reports that this information was released by the Georgian Roads Department.

It is reported that currently, heavy trucks are prohibited from moving on the road leading to the Georgia-Russia border. According to the latest information, more than 1700 heavy trucks are registered in the electronic queue.

According to the information, due to snow and ice, the movement of vehicles with trailers and semi-trailers has been temporarily restricted on the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars international road between kilometers 93 and 107.

The situation remains severe on the Russian side as well.

According to the website of the North Ossetia Traffic Management Center, more than 1500 trucks are waiting to cross the Russia-Georgia border at the Upper Lars border checkpoint.
